    Small Business Vision Insurance FAQs

    • What types of vision insurance plans are there to choose from?

Depending on the insurance company, there are many types of Vision plans to choose from. Some plans require the participant to access treatment only from a selected group of Vision Care physicians and facilities. Some Vision plans allow participants the freedom to choose their own Vision Care physician and facility, but will only reimburse a percentage or specified amount of services covered. Some plans offer both a network of Vision Care physicians and facilities along with an option for the participant to choose their own physician and facility. Most Vision plans cover an eye exam, frames, lenses, contacts on an annual or bi-annual basis along with additional services and reimburse the participant capped at a specified  amount or percentage of the cost.

    • What is covered in a Georgia group vision plan?

Depending on the insurance company, most Vision plans cover an eye exam, frames, lenses, contacts along with additional services and options to upgrade the hardware involved. These covered items are generally offered on an annual or bi-annual basis. Some Vision plans offer Lasik surgery coverage which is a procedure to correct vision.

    • How much does group vision insurance cost in Georgia?

Vision insurance is much lower in cost than most medical related insurance products. Depending on the insurance company’s outline of coverage for a Vision plan, the cost can vary from a low of  $7-$10/month to a high of $25-$30/month for single coverage. Of all insurance products, group Vision Insurance is one of the “Best Buys” for the premium spent.
